The hip joint is located in the pelvic girdle and consists of the acetabulum and proximal part of femur. This is a multiaxial ball-and-socket joint like the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint. The hip joint has a stronger labral rim combined with the ligament and capsule. Reinforcement by associated soft tissues provides good stability.

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease caused by wear and tear on the joint and is the most common form of arthritis in mid-life and older people. It causes pain that reduces joint function and quality of life. Commonly affected areas include hand, hip, spine, knee and foot.

--Metabolic conditions : Wilsonˇ¦s disease, hemochromatosis, hyper-parathyroidism
--Trauma : meniscal injury, ACL injury, old fractures and infectious arthritis
--Fatigue : repetitive use of the joint
--Poor posture : knee hyperextension, poor sitting and standing posture, obesity and pregnancy in the final stage.
--Work behavior : prolonged standing causing overuse of the knee joint

--Reduced range of motion :deformity or subluxation, muscle spasm or contracture

The outside elastic force and anchor surrounding the waist stabilize the hip joint. The hip support can relieve heavy weight-bearing from the thigh and hip muscle.
